Editorial Policy

This page explains how AI Detector News works: who is behind it, how we test the tools we review, and the standards we hold ourselves to. If you ever wonder why a review says what it says, the answer should be here.

Who We Are

AI Detector News is an independent publication founded and edited by Gangz Xiong. We cover AI detection tools and AI content tools — what they do, how well they actually work, and who they are worth paying for.

We are not owned by, and do not work for, any of the companies whose products appear on this site.

How We Review

Every review on this site is based on hands-on use. We sign up for the tool ourselves, run it the way a real user would, and test AI detectors with real writing samples — human-written text, AI-generated text, and edited text in between — then compare what the tool reports against what its makers claim.

When we score a tool, we weigh four things: how well it detects what it is supposed to detect, how easy it is to use, how transparent its pricing is, and who it genuinely suits. A tool can be powerful and still score poorly here if it is confusing, overpriced for what it does, or marketed with claims our testing could not reproduce.

Editorial Independence

Our conclusions are ours alone. Vendors cannot pay for a positive review, cannot pay to change a score or a conclusion, and do not get to preview or edit a review before it is published. If a company offers us anything in exchange for coverage, we decline — and if a tool underperforms in our testing, we say so, whatever the commercial relationship.

Affiliate Disclosure

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy a subscription or product through one of them, we may earn a commission. That commission never costs you anything extra — you pay the same price you would pay going direct — and it never influences our scores or conclusions. It simply helps cover the cost of the subscriptions we buy in order to test these tools.

Corrections Policy

If we get something wrong, we fix it. When a factual error is found in a published article, we update the article and note the correction in the text, so readers can see what changed. If you spot an error — a wrong price, an outdated feature, a claim that no longer holds — please tell us through our Contact page and we will check it.

How We Keep Content Current

AI tools change fast, and a review that was accurate six months ago may not be accurate today. When a tool we have covered releases a major update or changes its pricing, we revisit the review, re-test where needed, and update our conclusions and the date on the article to match.
